Waiting for the 3rd post??Here it is.
If you're wondering what my title signifies, here I come to your rescue.Till now, We've spoken about Sheldon, Penny, Howard, Leonard and Raj. We've spoken about the funniest episodes in the show We've discussed Sheldon's best "BAZINGA!" moments and his killer smack-downs. But we've never looked at the characters as people other than their characters. You would've guessed by now. Yes, this post is a sneak-peak into what happens on the other side of the door. Here, we don't talk about Sheldon or Raj; we look into the lives of Jim Parsons and Kunal Nayyar (yes you're very used to saying Sheldon and Raj, but surprise surprise...those ARE their real names!) On this post, we talk about their real lives (look closely, I didn't say reel lives!). You may also find some facts which you didn't know. And if you did know them, well then, like our teachers back at school say, it's revision time!! Let's hope I can provide you with some useful actor and show trivia.
To start off, let me enlighten you on Sheldon's Green Lantern symbol shirts. He chose to wear these shirts since the symbol is a clue to his emotion at that time; red shows rage, blue is for hope and indigo is for compassion. I'm sure you didn't know that...even I didn't till now! Also, Kaley Cuoco, who plays Penny, chose her own name for the show and also drafted the script partially, thus bringing in Rajesh Koothrapalli and Howard Wolowitz into the show.
Did you know...I really didn't. Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz) actually has an entire room for his wardrobe in the show!! Don't believe me?? You can check it yourself!!
Ever wondered why Penny and the other Cheesecake Factory employees are in yellow instead of the white shirts real-life Cheesecake Factory servers wear? Bill Prady, the writer/creator of the show revealed at Comic-Con 2009 that white shirts would "strobe" on analog television, so even with the advent of digital TV, costumers are used to avoiding white shirts for TV wardrobes. Also, Bill Prady has worked with a person who had selective mutism and he decided to include this as one of the traits of Rajesh in the show.
Initially, Jim Parsons was rejected during the character screening auditions for the show since he was said to be "unprepared" to suit the character. The role was offered to Johnny Galecki (yes the same guy who plays Leonard in the show!) initially. However, he felt that he would not be able to carry it off well compared to his current character. Hence, after a few more screening tests, the role was finally offered to Jim Parsons
Seems funny doesn't it??? Considering the Sheldon we all go bonkers about would probably never be the one who we love so much. And, the Leonard we all know would be Sheldon. I wonder how that would be..but for a fact, I would probably change the topic of my second post (this is a hint to all those who haven't read it as yet!)
It is said that Jim Parsons prepped for his future role in "The Big Bang Theory" with a scene in Zach Braff's "Garden State.". Parsons plays a Medieval Times knight who knows how to say "Kill Kirk" in Klingon. Now that explains his prior knowledge of Klingon! Adding on to that, Mayim Bialik, who plays Sheldon's not-girlfriend Amy Farrah Fowler, is the most prepared for her genius geek role on "The Big Bang Theory." The A.V. Club reports that Bialik earned her Ph.D in neuroscience from UCLA in 2008. Now that's what I call dedication!!
